We here at the Great Outdoors are garden specialists. We are passionate about our work, and our clients are passionate about our results.

We have been helping central Texans create distinctive, sustainable indoor & outdoor living lifestyles since 1985, when Tom established a grounds maintenance business he called ‘The Great Outdoors.’ As a result of the business’ immense popularity, it soon outgrew its rented location on Jesse Street off Barton Spring Road. Tom then acquired the more spacious property on South Congress. Over the course of time, the business evolved from simple grounds maintenance, to Landscape Design and Expert Installation, and finally, the wildly popular Garden Center, which has been hailed by many as one of the premier professional nurseries in central Texas. Our staff of certified nurserymen and designers have unmatched experience in working with the region’s climate and soils.
