This isn't my best article ever, but I really wanted to get this in so we don't miss the window of opportunity.

Now is the time for applying corn gluten to the lawn to control (notice I didn't say eliminate) the weeds that emerge in early spring, say late February to early March. Every year, people food in at that time looking a remedy, but it's too late. The application needs to be done now to prevent those little weed seedlings from getting an established root system.

One special note **** DO NOT use cron gluten if you plan on putting out rye grass or wildflower seeds. Just as it helps control weeds, it will also "control" any plant that you try to grow from seed. Best of fall to you all!

Just wondering what kind of rye grass seed I should be putting down this year and when? Also I have a composting question?,I have a ton of cockroaches in my compost pile,as of today.I went out to the pile to turn it and add a bag of grass clippings and noticed alot of cockroaches(fat and flat, not long and narrow, like the ones you might find in your house),what's up with this. This pile is not new,I've had it for about 18 years now and haven't had this problem before. Thank You Dale kroll
